Constitution of SG1 Business Club Business Network ("SG1")1. SG1 Business Club 1.1 SG1 Business Club is breakfast networking group for the benefit of its members. 1.2 The group will remain independent until such time as the majority of the members agree that the group should become part of another organisation. 1.3 The group activities will initially be funded by membership fees and breakfast charges. 1.4 The group will be managed by the members by arrangement and agreement for both tasks and remuneration. 2. Aims of the group 2.1 To provide an opportunity for networking 2.2 To provide an opportunity for business support between members 2.3 To facilitate business growth of members 3. Membership and attendance 3.1 Weekly meetings will be open to members only and invited guests 3.2 Each member may choose one profession or service that they exclusively represent. No other member or visitor may take a representation of this profession or service without agreement of the original member 3.3 Each member may state roles or professions that they consider to be part of their exclusive area of representation 3.4 Members will commit to attending the weekly meetings 3.5 Visitors' days will be held at regular intervals to encourage new members to experience the group and to consider joining 3.6 Non-members may be invited to attend the weekly meetings for up to two weeks without paying a membership fee at the discretion of the Chairperson 4. Name 4.1 The name of the group will be SG1 Business Club or SG1 for short 5. Finances 5.1 Members will pay a yearly membership fee of £50.00 plus an initial £20 to cover individual entry into the club website. 5.2 The yearly membership fee will be set at the Annual General Meeting and may be revised at an Extraordinary General Meeting 5.3 Members will pay £10 every week for breakfast, when in attendance in accordance with the financial policy 5.4 Visitors will pay £15 for breakfast each time they visit in accordance with the financial policy 5.5 Guests may be invited and paid for by the group at the discretion of the committee 5.6 Expenditure of group funds must be agreed by the Treasurer and the Chairperson or by the committee 6. Administration and support 6.1 The group will be managed by a committee consisting of: • Chairman 6.2 The committee will be elected at the annual general meeting of all the members. Bi-elections and co-options may take place throughout the year subject to the agreement of the committee 6.3 An Extraordinary General Meeting may be called by two members 6.4 Seven days notice must be given for all general meetings 6.5 All terms of office are until the Annual General Meeting 6.6 Created policy and a record of decisions will be kept by the committee 7. Inaugural meeting and AGM dates 7.1 SG1's inaugural meeting was held on 1st April 2009 and therefore the club's AGM will be held on the first Friday of April of each year unless agreed to be changed by the committee |
